labour of love
This Saturday past I had the honour of photographing a birth at the birth centre where Theo was born. It was such an incredibly beautiful birth and I am so grateful that I was able to document it for the family as they welcomed their little boy, Ari.
In part I felt like I was intruding on something sacred meant to be shared by only these two. It was so touching to see the chemistry between two people that created life bringing it forth together, working in harmony. Such a beautiful intimacy that made me feel like ‘this – this is what love is’.
How truly lucky I am to have had this honour to capture it.
(I will blog again about the birth with more photos soon – I can’t wait to show you the sweetest little product of this labour, Ari Elliot! Adoooooor-able!)

Ummmmm.
AMAZING!
I love your perspective Georgia. You are so talented. These photos are going to be unbelievable I just know it!
You’re gonna make me want another baby so that you can come and film/photograph the birth

Yey! Can’t wait to see the rest of these photos, this one is so beautiful. It looks like you captured a moment of stillness in the middle of it all, really gorgeous. x

Thank you for your lovely compliment Judy. As far as birth photography – I have had beautiful photos taken by my sister of our wedding, of our family, of our engagement and I have literally thousands of lovely photos I’ve taken of my kids at every other age but my most precious thing, my most absolute favourites are the birth photos of each of my children. If I had them safe – I’d happily let the house burn down! I doubt it could be something you’d regret.
