I took my DSLR camera in the pool for a swim today. It was weird.
While I was under there, I discovered what an adorable underwater face Peach has. Here I was thinking she was serenely swimming around under there like a mermaid. Turns out her face is like this the entire time. I love it. Makes me wanna pinch those little cheeks

Every time the kids ask me to bake with them, I get a little anxiety.
Flour. Water. Children yielding spatulas.
It just doesn’t seem like a good idea in theory.
It’s just that, every time I actually say “what the heck, I don’t want a clean kitchen anyway” and let them go wild in the there – I am so completely happy. Baking (and cooking) are such fun for little people and so many opportunities for learning. Little hands learning to break eggs. Little minds ticking over why the bench is now very sticky. Little helpers pouring in and out, counting as they go.
I’ve also noticed the more I involve them in the process, the more they enjoy their meals, understanding the effort they put in.
Little Miss Domestic
I always thought my daughter would be wild and unruly. That she’d get around in mini doc martens and play with toy trucks and sling shots.
I certainly never thought she’d be the kind of girl who begged to bake and cook for her ‘husband’ – wherever did she get that idea from?
Last night she almost cooked our entire meal on her own (pumpkin soup). I stood by to tell her where to put things or when to be careful of the heat but she was insistent I did not help her at all. Quite pleased with herself she was!
